High-power chargers will push e-car demand
Eni and IONITY signed a framework agreement to install high-power chargers for electric cars at Eni service stations. IONITY, a joint venture between Daimler, Ford, BMW and the Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche, is currently on target for 400 stations across Europe by 2020, with up to 2,400 chargers.
Also other oil companies operating service stations have started to join a convenient network of reliable and powerful chargers. Shell has opened its first high-powered charging station in France and OMV has already two IONITY chargers at their highway service stations in Salzburg and Carinthia.
